Structure Group Ltd.

Our History

Structure Group is a continuation and rebirth of Twinline Access which was our original name when we started in 2013. With time our name and focus shifted to better align with the changing market and the higher reactivity.

The story starts with our founder Chris who saw the rope access market getting crowded with access only providers and general services. He launched Structure with two main principles, Safety & Reliability and two moto's. Good enough, never is - and - Integrity in everything. Our first client was Suncor fort hills construction project.

Our rental fleet of rigging, safety, and rope access equipment surpasses 5,000 items. Our fleet is deployed across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Newfoundland.

We saw a lot of efforts from 2018 come to fruition, gaining our Certificate of Recognition (COR), IRATA membership, and CWB 47.1 certification. During this time, rental inquiries exceeded expectations, and we heavily invested in our fleet, achieving 400% growth.

COVID was an unexpected challenge, to say the least. As a new company without full-time maintenance work, we pivoted our focus to our rental fleet and training. The significant investment in our fleet from 2018 paid off, as manufacturers scaled back and suppliers faced backorders. Our rental revenues surpassed 500% of 2018 levels, keeping the company stable.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary with past clients starting capital projects, leading to some major scopes in Saskatchewan completing crane inspections, structural repairs and a large asbestos abatement rope access project. Rounding off the fall with growth in our training division and a steel install in Victoria, BC was a great year.

A year of pressure and firsts, literally. We secured our first full-time maintenance contract in the oil sands, our first master service agreement with a midstream company, and achieved accreditation from ABSA for pressure piping and equipment modification and repair.

In an effort to better serve our BC customers, the company acquired raw industrial land in the Elk Valley to develop a shop and camp accommodations for our staff. Continued investments in welding processes now enable us to work with all standard and some specialty materials, from basic carbon to CCO and stainless piping. Our rental fleet also surpassed 75,000 items.

Building the future. We plan to break ground on our new fabrication shop in BC, add additional alloy weld procedures, and are excited to reconnect with some of our roots.
